Having recently released a string of tracks including “Drive”, “Remember” (the Michael McDonald/Warren G re-work), and “Ooh Lordy”, his latest offering, “Lost In Translation”, continues to prove and further his creativity whilst creating a consistent and familiar sound that has garnered fans globally.
“Lost in Translation”, out today via Island Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, is pop-funk perfection that is set to soundtrack late night summer nights throughout the season. With an infectious funk-lined riff, the track builds progressively into a crescendo of the breezy and uplifting chorus where Youngr has proven once again his ability to combine multiple genres and sounds, whilst still maintaining his signature aesthetic.
On “Lost in Translation”, Youngr explains: “This song says a lot about me and the world I am living in. Being fortunate enough to take my live show around the world and meet all these amazing people, it puts real perspective on life. I feel like this song was being written in my head over the past three years with every new experience and person I came across.”
2017 saw Youngr release a string of triumphant singles and bootlegs (including the funk-filled bootleg “Give It Up”, a Lee Dorsey reworking with rising UK House producer Endor), his viral take on Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition”(surpassing 45M views) and the incredible “93” video (a collaboration with award-winning Valentine Reinhardt - Tame Impala, Nike - and Manu Cossu - Drake, A$AP Rocky).
This has accelerated Youngr’s accolades to over 60M streams globally with over 30M video views. The past 18 months has seen him take his unforgettable live show across the globe with sold out shows across Europe and the U.S., including a string of dates with Matoma in February this year. With performances at festivals including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, SXSW and Latitude already under his belt, 2018 looks set to see the prodigal producer continue his rapid ascent with the release of his own original material.
