04 November 2022 (Toronto, ON) – Today Zach Zoya, one of the hottest artists coming out of Montréal’s music scene, surprises fans with two brand-new songs accompanied by compelling videos via 7ième Ciel/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

“Come By Here” and “Birthday Sex” showcase Zoya’s skill for crafting lyrics that hug the melody, using his voice to shape sounds and spark visuals with an ease that seems effortless. Tackling intimacy and insecurity, Zoya’s emotionally charged lyrics pulse with sensuality and longing within the swerving, seductive beats. Produced by close collaborators Soran, MIKO and YukiDreamsAgain, the songs continue the narrative theme explored in Zoya’s sophomore EP No Love Is Ever Wasted by diving deeper into reflective, honest songwriting.

“It was important for me to drop these two songs at the same time,” says Zoya. “They continue the narrative I established in No Love Is Ever Wasted on songs like ‘All Alone In The Universe’ and ‘Start Over’, only these tracks have a more mature, somewhat darker perspective on love. ‘Come By Here’ is a sort of letter seeking closure addressed to an ex before letting her go and ‘Birthday Sex’ is about being on the rebound and a return to the dating life after a long, tumultuous relationship. Both are pretty literal and show the waves of emotional distress and clarity I was going through.”
